SOFFI 

Soffi è il titolo di una serie di sculture in cui il fragile dialogo tra vetro e metallo, mette in relazione gesto e memoria, corpo e casa.

La serie parte dalla rielaborazione di oggetti domestici quali ceste decorative o manufatti di dubbia funzione, dentro ai quali faccio espandere il vetro gonfiandolo fino al limite del collasso.

Nel suo farsi, la scultura subisce uno sviluppo autonomo, dettato dalla costrizione/contrizione che la struttura in metallo imprime al vetro.

Silvia Vendramel’s research begins with domestic objects that are transformed through the use of blown glass. The series entitled Soffi / Blows is composed of familiar objects into which glass is blown to the point of nearly collapsing. The objects used are often decorative in nature because the artist starts from the assumption that any ornamental object reflects the need to fill a void and it is precisely this psychological aspect that interests her.

Generated by the fragile dialogue between glass and metal, every Soffio/Blow puts gesture and memory, body and home into a relationship. The development of every work consists of two phases: the first recalls the gestures of a little girl (in which the object is cut open, twisted, turned upside down...), the second intends to restore a shape to the emptiness through blowing. The hot and direct action that fills and re-invents absence is the raison d’etre of the series. Transformation from liquid to solid state, the moment of incandescence, as rapid as it is irrevocable, the unpredictability of the shape that blowing will give, are all distinctive features of these works.

Giorni è una piccola struttura in metallo, un' oliera o qualcosa del genere, dentro la quale ho inserito dei pezzi di banco di scuola che, disposti su piani sfalsati, suggeriscono un movimento circolare.
