MOVING STREAMS

Moving Streams è un progetto itinerante che prende forma in luoghi fortemente caratterizzati dalla presenza dell’acqua.
Il suo primo sviluppo è avvenuto durante la residenza Cartografia sensibile 2023 (Cars Omegna), sul lago d’Orta: un territorio profondamente segnato dalla storia industriale, favorita dalla ricchezza di fonti idriche. Lagostina, Bialetti, Faro, Alessi sono solo alcune delle realtà industriali nate in quest’area, oggi in gran parte delocalizzate o scomparse, a causa delle dinamiche economiche globali.

Successivamente, Moving Streams ha trovato una nuova tappa nel Nuovo Spazio di Casso, centro espositivo situato nei pressi della diga del Vajont —nota per la tragedia del 1963.

L’installazione è composta da scarti industriali in alluminio che, come l’acqua, si adattano e si modulano in relazione allo spazio che li accoglie. Questi elementi, prodotti in serie ma resi unici da lievi irregolarità, richiamano la forma, le dimensioni e la fragilità di una foglia.
Il loro essere scarti seriali crea un cortocircuito visivo e concettuale: evocano paesaggi sospesi tra naturale e artificiale, suggerendo una presenza organica in un materiale tecnico.

La superficie opaca e riflettente dell’alluminio, segnata dalla memoria liquida del processo di fusione, insieme al gioco di scala — che suggerisce un universo in miniatura — contribuisce a definire il carattere dell’installazione.—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Moving Streams is a traveling project that takes shape in locations deeply defined by the presence of water.
Its first development took place during the Cartografia sensibile 2023 residency (Cars Omegna), on Lake Orta—a territory historically shaped by industry, thanks to the abundance of water sources. Lagostina, Bialetti, Faro, and Alessi are just a few of the industrial brands that originated in the area, now largely relocated or shut down due to global economic dynamics.

The project later moved to the Nuovo Spazio di Casso, an exhibition space located near the Vajont dam—known for the tragic disaster of 1963.

The installation is composed of industrial aluminum waste that, like water, adapts and reshapes itself in response to the space it inhabits. These elements, mass-produced yet made unique by subtle irregularities, resemble the form, scale, and fragility of a leaf.

Their status as serially produced waste creates a visual and conceptual short circuit: they evoke landscapes suspended between the natural and the artificial, suggesting an organic presence within a technical material.

The matte, reflective surface of the aluminum—marked by the liquid memory of the casting process—and the play on scale, which hints at a miniature world, together help define the distinctive character of the installation.
