LA TORRE - IDOLI
La serie è composta da pannelli per la produzione di scatole di cartone detti fustelle e recanti al loro interno, dime in acciaio incastonate nel legno.
Sedotta da questi segni/disegni metallici, ne ho selezionati un gran numero che ho poi piallato e dipinto in modo da evidenziarne le sagome.
Il gruppo intitolato La torre - Idoli, si presenta come un dispiegamento di potenziali forme volumetriche e come una vasta campionatura dove ogni tavola contraddice l’idea di produzione in serie acquisendo una propria identità.

The “La Torre” cardboard box factory near my studio decided to eliminate a large number of plywood sheets for the production of boxes one day and stacked two huge piles in the square outside.
Known as wood hollow punches, these sheets of plywood with steel templates inside are used to mass produce cardboard boxes.
Intrigued by the signs/metal designs inserted in the wood, I selected a few that I then stacked up myself and painted in ways that highlight the silhouettes that seemed most interesting.
The La Torre (Idoli) series is an assortment of potential sculptures, a vast samples collection in which each board both contradicts the idea of mass production and acquires an identity of its own.
